Literature Circle: Round 2

The "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" ended very differently from what we had imagined it to be. Not that we necessarily had anything specific in mind, but just surprised in that the school year ended that Greg met a new girl. We didn't have too much to talk about, because I don't think this book contains a lot of problems and ways that they are resolved. However, it is entertaining listening to how each of us could probably relate to this book if we were back in junior high or elementary because I do believe it has a lot of similar daily struggles. Meeting new girls or boys, being jealous of friends, and having to deal with awkward situations such as sleepovers. We were missing a member of our group who is a boy and the only boy in our group so it was also disappointing to not have a males opinion on Gregory and maybe why he acted the way he did. I don't know if this book would be the best way to have young students start their first literature circle, but it does make for great story time.
